I-20 Class Officers
Commodore - Justin Bolles
Justin Bolles grew up on Lake Wawasee and fell in love with scow sailing at an early age. He first tasted racing as a 12 year old on his uncle's E-Scow. The next
year he started racing lasers and by the age of 16 he was driving the E for club races. A lack of consistent crew made the transition to the I-20 logical,
and the Bolles family purchased their first I-20 in 2005. Justin loves high level of competition and comradery in the I-20 class, which compelled him to
join the leadership ranks after the 2007 sailing season.
Vice Commodore - Anita Bersie-Chabalowski
Anita Bersie-Chabalowski started racing I-20's back in 1998 when Mary Kay Bates recruited her as crew for the ILYA Champs in Green Lake, Wisconsin. After
graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 2000 Anita moved to Dearborn, Michigan to work in engine design at Ford Motor Company. Although no longer in the
heart of scow country she continues to attend most of the I-20 regattas each summer. "I love the two-person crew dynamic back from my days of college sailing,
and there's nothing better than the fast tactical downwinds with an asymmetrical spinnaker!" As the class Vice-Commodore Anita is excited to help get more
sailors to regattas each year, and is also the class fleet representative to the ILYA.
Executive Secretary & Treasurer - Pat Fleming
Pat Fleming grew up a Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, MN sailing on X boats, windsurfing, M16, and C scows. As family came in to play, sailing took a back seat,
Pat work as Race director for Fleet 8 windsurfing and help put on some great windsurfing events around the 5 state areas for 22 years. After the 25th Millelacs
Crossing Pat retired from Fleet 8 to return to his 1st love, Scows.
Pat races on A scows on Minnetonka and bought an I20 late summer 2010, "I wanted to sail with my son Cory, The I20 was a
great fit, having an asymmetrical spinnaker Scow that two people can run in any wind condition and be competitive was
huge, We are both big guys and stayed with some good sailors in light winds, I can’t wait to have it out in a 20+ wind.
The boats are priced right and the fleet is so welcoming.
"The biggest reason I joined this fleet is twofold, the boat is a blast to sail and the cost is reasonable."
Rear Commodore - Joe Terry
Joe Terry has been a vocal and invaluable memeber of the I-20 class for years. He sails with is wife, LaCinda, and they have found great success on the
race course in recent years. Joe has served the class as both Secretary & Treasurer and Commodore. As secretary Joe was instrumental in incorporating the
I-20 class and updating class records for future generations. In addition to giving so much of his time to the I-20 class, Joe is committed leader of the
Lake Dubay Yacht Club.
